Continuing Lessons
Lesson 1: Livestrong: "The number one reason people succeed is that they don't quit".
Lesson 2: Genesis 11:31: together they set out fromUr of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan . But when they came to Harran , they settled there.
Last night I didn't want to walk again.
I know you are shocked.
(I really hope this blog won't be 365 days of me saying, "I didn't want to walk...")
Anyway...I had read the Livestrong quote in an email yesterday morning, and the Genesis verse was from my quiet time. It really caught my attention: This is Terah taking his family, including his son, Abram (soon to become Abraham). They set out to go to Canaan. But they SETTLED in Harran.
Last night, when I didn't want to walk, God brought that verse to mind. Do I want to "settle"? God is calling me to Canaan--that is, to health and to learning love and obedience. Do I want to, instead, walk for 3 days in January and call it good? Did I want to settle for "I'm too tired to walk today?"
How awesome is God to speak to us through His Word, and then bring those words to mind when I most needed them.
