49 miles...
That's how much I've walked since the beginning of 2012.
I keep upping my mileage--last week I did 14 miles, this week 20.
I would certainly be keeping my commitment to God these days on the walking--there were two days I had to walk inside this week because of the weather, and one of them was walking at 9:50 at night. But God is faithful and showing me he can give me the strength, if I make the commitment to be obedient.
And the contest with my brother is encouraging me to push myself even more. Without that, I would probably walk 1/2 to 1 mile a day and call it good.
But I'm convicted by what Emma said...that I should be doing all this for God's glory, not mine. Winning a contest is for my glory. Learning to push myself and be obedient is for God's glory. So that's my prayer this week--that my focus will be on Him, not me...
How far I fail, Lord. How much I long to live and breathe and love only You.
