Day 17 and 18: Let's get "physical"

I saw my doctor today for my physical.  Good news?  Echo came back great, mammogram came back great, no diabetes, no thyroid issues, blood pressure and asthma are controlled...but vitamin D is low (to the point of needing supplements beyond a "one-a-day", isn't that crazy?) and cholesterol is high.  (sigh.  She offered meds for the cholesterol, but I want to really beat it into submission with nutrition and exercise.)

I asked her what things I could do to make my physical next year (age 50) better than this year's.  She said losing the weight, and upping the exercise--and of the two, exercise is the more important.

Which has me thinking through--I spend minutes (hours?) a day thinking about food, buying it, preparing it, traveling to eat it, eating it, etc.  How much time do I spend thinking about and doing exercise?  30-45 minutes?  (or some days, 0 minutes?)  And if it's more important to me, health wise, than ANYTHING, shouldn't it be a greater priority?

Food today:  yogurt breakfast, Zoup squash soup and salad, pizza dinner with girls bible study (followed by a salad at home!)  Exercise was a 30 minute walk at lunchtime with a friend.
